How to Know God Personally

What does it take to begin a relationship with God? Devote yourself to unselfish religious deeds? Become a better person so that God will accept you?
You may be surprised that none of those things will work. But God has made it very clear in the Bible how we can know Him.
The following principles will explain how you can personally begin a relationship with God, right now, through Jesus Christ...

Principle 1:
God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life.
God's Love
"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." 1

What does Jesus offer us?

Q: "Why believe in Jesus? What does Jesus offer me?"
our A: Below are some of his statements made while on earth, in their context.
a way out of darkness -- "I have come as light into the world, that everyone who believes in Me may not remain in darkness."1
satisfaction, an end to our inner thirst -- Jesus therefore said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven. For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world." They said therefore to Him, "Lord, evermore give us this bread." Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."2

THE BIBLE

The Bible was written over a span of 1500 years, by 40 authors. Unlike other religious writings, the Bible reads as a factual news account of real events, places, people, and dialogue. Historians and archaeologists have repeatedly confirmed its authenticity.

Using the authors' own writing styles and personalities, God shows us who he is and what it's like to know him.
There is one central message consistently carried by all 40 authors of the Bible: God, who created us all, desires a relationship with us. He calls us to know him and trust him.

The Bible not only inspires us, it explains life and God to us. It does not answer all the questions we might have, but enough of them. It shows us how to live with purpose and compassion. How to relate to others. It encourages us to rely on God ...

Sex and the Search for Intimacy

Find out how to love and be loved. Experience real intimacy in your relationships...
By Dick Purnell
Listen to article
Dr. Henry Brandt, in the Collegiate Challenge magazine, said that there is a syndrome, a pattern, when couples come to him. They say, "At first, sex was exciting. Then I started feeling funny about myself, and then I started feeling funny about my partner. We argued and fought and finally we broke up. Now we are enemies."
This syndrome is what I call the morning-after syndrome. We wake up and find that intimacy is not really there. The sexual relationship does not satisfy us anymore, and what we end up with is not what we really wanted in the first place. All you have is two self-centered people seeking self-satisfaction.

Military ministry

The main target of this ministry are the military, the soldiers deployed in different cities and areas of the country.
The soldier status is nowhere condemned in the Bible. Throughout the Bible talks about soldiers in positive terms as is also the case for the workers, farmers, athletes etc. The example of the soldier is also used to illustrate the character traits. For example:
• Serve his country 1Cor.9: 7
• Be firm Eh. 6: 11-17
• Fight the good fight 1Tim. 6:12
• Enduring suffering 2Tim 2: 3
• Persevere without detours 2Tim 2: 4
Some of the greatest leaders of the Old Testament were soldiers. Among them was Joshua, Gideon, David. Besides, the centurions of the New Testament were regarded as honorable men.
